Back to Basics

We feel depleted by the constant demands from our lives. Our attention is outward, on people, places and projects. It drains our energy and we need to sleep to recover and regenerate.

Sleep in an involuntary turning inward, and eventually fails to refresh our energy. Meditation is simply turning inward by choice. It is available in small windows of time during the day and with a little practice become an effective tool to regulate our energy and emotions so that we can recover from specific outward drains on our energy and equilibrium.

It is worth learning because you get more of yourself back that just relying on sleep alone. With practice, people and events drain you less. You grow a more cohesive sense of self. You increase your capacity to be present, and that changes everything.

A set of tools for transformation

Just like cooking, gardening or bicycle mechanics, the tasks and challenges of each require a set of specific tools. Some of us grew up in cultures where we were not taught healthy and functional tools to regulate our energy, to cultivate our consciousness and to repair and realign our lives.

Grounding Presence meditation is a skill set of awareness tools. They are not coupled with any religious tradition. They are well suited to people who “can’t meditate.”
